Man kills his father, stabs the mother in Anambra

A young man identified as Ifeanyi Oguejiofor killed his father with a knife and stabbed his mother to death in the community of Abatete in the local government area of ​​Idemili North, Anambra State.

This incident happened on Saturday, barely a week after a man killed his four children, including his 18-year-old maid in the Awada Obosi community of the same local government.

According to her mother Josephine, who survived the incident, said that the suspected son has been asking for money from her and his father since Friday.

She explained that their inability to give him the money he asked for resulted in a sad event that cost her husband his life.

Ogueofor, 27, a commercial motorcyclist, was arrested by police while the command began an investigation into the case.

In another context, about 10 suspects were exhibited at police headquarters in Amawbia for various crimes, including child trafficking, armed robbery, and kidnapping.

The state police commissioner, Garba Umar, who parade the suspects, revealed that weapons, money, and charms, among others, had been recovered to them.

He also takes the opportunity to issue a 21-day ultimatum to individuals, vigilantes, and neighborhood watch groups, the municipal union, hunters and night watchers among others who are in possession of all categories of prohibited firearms to deliver them.

The police commissioner told reporters that the statement was a directive from the Inspector General of Police and that the state command set up a nine-man working group for the raking operation.

He also called on residents to support the police in their efforts to protect the lives and property of the people of the state.
