A 24-year-old Turkish woman has been named the tallest woman in the world by Guinness World Records. Rumeysa Gelgi is 215.16 centimeters tall. However, Turkey has produced both the tallest man and woman in the world.
The woman suffers from Weaver syndrome, which causes, among other things, a large stature. Gelgi was also named the world’s tallest teenager in 2014.
The world’s tallest man is also a Turk. Sultan Kosen is 251 centimeters tall.
The greatest woman who ever lived was the Chinese Zeng Jinlian, who died in 1982. She was 246.3 centimeters tall. “In 1964, the tallest woman ever record holder Zeng Jinlian was born. Jinlian was from Yujiang village in the Bright Moon Commune, Hunan Province, China. She measured 246.3 cm (8 ft 1 in) and suffered from both scoliosis and diabetes.”
