Nick Jonas (26) just gave his yes-word in India
The couple gave their yes-word today during a Western wedding in Chopra’s homeland India. The wedding party comes just four months after Jonas went on the knees for the 36-year-old Bollywood actress.
The marriage was performed in a large palace in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. Both the bride and groom were dressed in a creation by Ralph Lauren, incidentally a good friend of the celebrity couple.
The father of the groom, Paul Kevin Jonas Sr., organized the Christian ceremony on Saturday, where the couple exchanged Chopard rings. Tomorrow the new bride and groom will continue their epic wedding weekend with a traditional ceremony to honour the background of Chopra.
Indian ceremony follows tomorrow
“It is super important for Priyanka to have an Indian ceremony honouring her legacy and culture. Just as it is important for her to have a Western ceremony that honours Nick’s Christian education,” a source told PEOPLE earlier this week.
The couple first started talking in 2016 via Twitter. And met for the first time personally at a party for the Academy Awards in 2017. It took a year before they officially came out as a couple.
Funny nickname
In September Jonas revealed some more about his relationship with Chopra in ‘The Tonight Show’ with Jimmy Fallon. “It was reasonably immediate, and I think we just knew it was right and we were right in,” he said. Nick also thinks about a ‘nickname’ for both of them. By analogy with other stars that often fuse their (for) names: She likes “Prick. I do not like that,” joked the Jonas Brother.
