Taylor Swift fans finally know who she wrote her famous breakup song

Thanks to a youth photo on Instagram, Taylor Swift fans finally believe they know who the pop diva wrote one of her most famous breakup songs. In ‘All Too Well’ she talks about an ex who used to be ‘a child with big glasses’. Let that be exactly what Jake Gyllenhaal (39) looks like in his latest Instagram photo.

An unsuspecting Jake shared one of his childhood photos on the social network, not realizing that it would draw thousands of Taylor fans’ attention. He looks exactly like a child that Swift describes in her hit ‘All Too Well’, which came out in 2012. “I remember it all too well. Photo album on the counter, your cheeks were turning red. You used to be a little kid with glasses in a twin-size bed,” the song says.

‘All Too Well’ was intended as a fill-in track for the album ‘Red’, but unexpectedly became a favorite for her loyal followers. That is why people are so eager to know who it is actually about. Taylor Swift (30) never says explicitly who her ‘victims’ are. However, it is generally known that she bases her songs on her own love life.

“Okay, the mystery has been solved”, the so-called ‘Swifties’ respond under Jake’s photo. Taylor had a brief relationship with him in 2010: they split up after three months. Apparently, that was long enough to inspire a song. “Jake is the ex behind ‘All Too Well’. Now that the other fifty breakup songs from her repertoire are still deciphering … ”

The photo is inundated with reactions with lyrics. Because not only the description of the young Jake matches the text. Taylor also sings, “I left my scarf there at your sister’s house. And you still got it in your drawer even now”.

According to her fans, that sister refers to Maggie Gyllenhaal, the sister of Jake, with whom Taylor had a good relationship at the time.

If the theory were correct, it would reveal a lot about the relationship. At the end of the song, Taytay swings with a lot of accusations: “Hey, you call me up again just to break me like a promise. So casually cruel in the name of being honest. I’m a crumpled up piece of paper lying here ‘Cause I remember it all, all, all too well”. Neither Taylor nor Jake has responded to all the commotion.

It’s not the first time fans think they know who Taylor is singing about. According to them, the song ‘Style’ is – very clearly – about Harry Styles. This is evident from both the text and the title. But Swift never wanted to officially confirm that either.
