These are the first images of Matthias Schoenaerts in ‘Django’
The first images of Belgium Matthias Schoenaerts (43) in “Django” are here. The actor has a leading role in the ten-part TV series, a remake of the 1966 Italian spaghetti western of the same name.
‘Django’ (not to be confused with the Tarantino film ‘Django Unchained’) is set in the Wild West. Sarah and John have founded New Babylon there, a town full of outcasts. Sarah turns out to be the daughter of a certain Django, who is haunted by the murder of his family eight years earlier.
However, when he finds his lost daughter in New Babylon, he is not welcomed with open arms. Indeed, Sarah fears that he will endanger the town if he stays. But Django doesn’t want to lose his daughter a second time.
Matthias Schoenaerts will play Django in the new TV series, loosely based on the 1966 Italian spaghetti western.
Director is Francesca Comencini (“Gomorrah”). “The western is one of the most traditional and popular genres,” the director reveals.
“’Django’ is one of the most beloved films in Italy and worldwide. This new series will be a fresh remake of the cult classic, bringing viewers a contemporary perspective.” Shooting began in May. When the series will be seen is not yet known.
