This “blatant mistake” made while cooking potatoes

Many people make a “blatant” mistake when cooking potatoes. Yet it is a straightforward operation. Instead of pouring cold water over them, it is advisable to put them in boiling water.

Usually, people pour cold water over the potatoes. Therefore, during cooking, they lose most of their nutrients. There is a solution: immerse them in boiling water and not salt them until they become soft, advises the Polish website Wirtualna Polska.

Cook for 15 to 20 minutes

According to the portal, fresh potatoes, carefully washed or peeled, should be cooked for 15 – 20 minutes. As for the older ones, it is advisable to cook them without removing the skin since everything that has the most flavor is underneath.

To make this vegetable more tasty, the site recommends adding milk in the proportion of 250 milliliters per liter, butter, and onions to the boiling water.
