Even the healthiest diet will not produce the desired results without regular exercise. However, if you don’t have the time to get to the gym or go on regular long runs, there is no need to worry. With just a few straightforward changes to your routine, you may drastically boost your level of physical activity and lose those extra pounds.
1. Walk whenever you can
If you can walk to your place of employment, the store, or any other destination, you should take advantage of the chance. Walking frequently, especially at a fast pace, is one of the best ways to overcome the effects of ageing and burn additional calories at the same time. Scientists from the University of Leicester in England concluded after conducting their research. They discovered that walking at a faster pace was associated with longer white blood cell telomeres, which is a measure of biological age.
2. Make sure you give yourself a few “difficulties” to solve
Taking the stairs instead of the elevator, parking your car a bit further away from the house, going for a walk during your lunch break instead of sitting on the phone, and so on are all examples of daily challenges you may give yourself to help you stay in shape.
3. Have fun with outdoor games
Active play in the great outdoors is at its peak throughout the spring and summer months. As a result, you should try to spend as much time as you can outside and organize some enjoyable sporting events with your family and friends, such as games of catch-up, football or volleyball matches, badminton competitions, etc. This will not only help you become more physically active, but it will also enhance your mood and the quality of your relationships with the people you care about.
4. Do exercises
Since we were in kindergarten, our parents have ingrained in us the importance of doing some exercise first thing in the morning for both our physical and mental well-being. And there is no doubt whatsoever about this. Even a short workout of ten minutes can help you maintain the tone of your muscles, energize you, and get you ready for the day’s work. Therefore, resist the urge to sleep in and get some modest exercise first thing in the morning. Your physical self will be grateful to you for it.
5. Turn cleaning into a workout
Chores around the house are not as simple as they may appear at first look, and they can occasionally burn as many calories as a complete exercise at the gym. As a result, giving the house a thorough cleaning is an excellent approach to burning off the additional calories that one may have consumed during a barbecue picnic. This kind of “training” at home will be more effective if you use less of the products and appliances that make the cleaning process easier. For instance, use a broom to sweep away dust rather than a vacuum cleaner, and wash the floors by hand rather than using a machine.
