Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez do not split up: ‘I am not single’

After news of the breakup circulated, Jennifer and Alex said in a joint statement that they are together but “are working on some things”.

Earlier this week, news circulated that former New York Yankee Alex Rodriguez and singer Jennifer Lopez would split up after a four-year relationship. Now it appears that they are only figuring out a few things.

In a video posted by TMZ, we see Alex Rodriguez, who has just returned from a workout. When TMZ asks him if he is single, he says: “I am definitely not single”. Later, he and Lopez announced in a joint statement that they would stay together but work through some things.

They were already having problems before she went to the Dominican Republic (for filming her new movie, ed.), PEOPLE reports.

The filming only made it worse, because they haven’t seen each other in person very often. But they love each other and want to keep working on it. They have never officially broken up and have talked about it, but they are still together.

They went through a difficult period. But they weren’t apart, the source continued, adding that the speculation that arose last month surrounding the alleged affair between Rodriguez and reality star Madison LeCroy had no bearing on their problems at all.

“She works in the Dominican Republic and he in Miami, so it’s hard to see each other, especially with quarantine and Covid,” the source said of Lopez and Rodriguez, “but they want to try to stay together.”

The corona pandemic

The Hollywood couple got engaged in March 2019 in the Bahamas after two years together. Over the past year, Lopez and Rodriguez have spent a lot of time at home during the pandemic as a newly formed family – Lopez has 13-year-old twins Maximilian David and Emme Maribel with ex-husband Marc Anthony, Rodriguez has daughters Ella (12) and Natasha (16) with ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis.

The corona pandemic has twice put Lopez and Rodriguez’ wedding plans on hold. Whether the wedding plans will be put aside again remains a question mark, according to TMZ.
