Obama classify Trump’s action as “serious mistake”

Former US President, Barack Obama on Tuesday referred Donald Trump’s action as “serious mistake” to withdraw the United States from the Iran nuclear deal, saying it could undermine the credibility of the United States in the world.

In a statement with a particularly firm tone, “I think that the decision to endanger the JCPOA without any violation of the agreement by the Iranians is a serious mistake,” said the former US president, who has been very secretive since his departure from the White House.

He warns that without this agreement, signed in 2015 after nearly two years of international negotiations, “the United States could ultimately face a losing choice between a nuclear-armed Iran or another war in the Middle East.”

“The reality is clear,” he insists. The agreement, which is “a model of what diplomacy can accomplish,” works and “is in America’s interest,” he says, deploring a decision to turn his back on close allies of America.

“In a democracy, there will always be changes in policies and priorities from one administration to another,” says the 44th President of the United States.

“But systematically flouting agreements to which our country is a party may erode the credibility of America,” he adds.

“The debates in our country should be based on facts,” he wrote in a pique to his Republican successor.

Donald Trump announced the reinstatement of sanctions against the Islamic Republic that had been lifted in return for Iran’s pledge not to acquire nuclear weapons.

“Today we have definitive proof that the Iranian promise was a lie,” he said in a speech from the White House.
