Parrot (51) of Pippi Longstocking died in arms of zoo director

Sad news from Germany, yesterday the old parrot of Pippi Longstocking passed away. Douglas, who plays the role of Pippi’s parrot Rosalinda in the movie ‘Pippi in Taka-Tukaland’, is 51 years old.

The zoo of Karlsruhe brought out the obituary today. According to the zoo, the bird died yesterday in the arms of director Matthias Reinschmidt because of his very old age.

The bird crept into the skin of Rosalinda in 1970 for the film ‘Pippi in Taka-Tukaland’. In reality, the bird was a male who listened to the name Douglas.

The parrot has lived in Malmö in Sweden for years and moved to the German zoo three years ago.
