Britney Spears loses major lawsuit against her father and cut her hair

Britney Spears (39) will remain under her father’s guardianship, Jamie (68), at least until September 2021. According to American media, the singer was told this during a closed session last Wednesday. In the meantime, the pop star announced on social media that she has again put the scissors in her hair. This reminds concerned fans of 2007 when Spears had a breakdown and shaved her head. The absolute low point for the singer.

Spears would be under her father’s supervision until February next year, but that period has now been postponed again to September 2021. Nevertheless, the singer had requested the court in August to remove her father as her curator, but there was no heeded.

Since then, Britney and Jamie’s relationship has deteriorated. According to father Spears, the two have not spoken to each other since the singer went to court. Britney would like an independent company to take responsibility for her finances.

“Let us pray”

The singer does not seem to let the decision come to her heart. On Instagram, she happily shares that she has cut her hair. “You know what they say: out with the old… in with the new!! Now let us pray” Her message also includes a photo of her new and shorter haircut, but not everyone responds positively to that. For example, many fans find the image very bizarre and worry about her mental well-being.

“That’s what I look like after a mental breakdown,” someone responds. Or also: “This is getting really scary”, “Am I the only one who thinks this doesn’t look right? There are many comments about her looks, but I have questions about this”, “There is no life in her eyes” and “I know it is normal to cut your hair, but frankly the atmosphere of your account make me worry about you.”

What is going on?

The wildest stories about Britney have been circulating in recent months. She would be ‘locked up’ in her own home against her will, and her father Jamie would be the evil brain behind it. Spears previously responded to all the rumors herself via a video on Instagram, in which she made it clear that her family was going through a very difficult period and that it was very difficult for her.

Her father has supervised Britney since her mental breakdown in 2008. Although the singer has regularly tried to change this over the years, their relationship has cooled even further recently. “I love my daughter, and I miss her very much,” Jamie told CNN. “When a family member needs special care and protection, families need to do something about it, as I have done for the past 12 years. I try to protect my daughter from others who act in self-interest. I try to protect and love Britney unconditionally. I have and will continue to offer my unmoving love and fierce protection against those who would harm her or my family.”

Father Jamie’s lawyer then added further clarification: “Jamie’s relationship with Britney is not that different from the average father-daughter relationship, insofar as there has always been mutual love and respect for each other,” he said.

Jamie and Britney spoke frequently and regularly, until a few months ago, Britney-appointed lawyer Sam Ingham abruptly instructed Jamie not to contact his daughter again. The fact is that they even had a pleasant and joint conversation the day before.
