Video of circus snake trainer who is strangled by a constrictor
A video recorded allegedly in Russia shows how a young man -circus snake trainer- collapses before the horrified gaze of the public.
The scene is chilling: the audience of the circus sitting in the stands follows the spectacle of the snake trainer who holds in his hands a constrictor, which he supports on his body. The show continues, the man wraps it around his neck until, suddenly, he falls to the floor while performing some jerky movements.
After the initial bewilderment, circus workers come to help the young man. In the recording, the young circus snake trainer looks faded, maybe dead… Because maybe? Although the scene seems to have happened in front of several people and the video went viral, it is impossible to know exactly where it took place.
Although there are indications that happened in Russia, the Russian authorities assured that they have no reports of such a death. Some Russian media claim that it happened in Dagestan, a Russian republic on the Caspian Sea, and indicate that a man died in those circumstances.
A media from Dagestan even states that the incident happened in the capital Majachkalá, but the local police do not have records of the incident. Another means, however, argues that the incident took place in the city of Kizilyurt, just over an hour from the capital, and adds that the lack of reports is due to what happened in the autumn even though the video appeared on Thursday.
For further confusion, the pro-Kremlin network REN TV said that the circus snake trainer, where it happened was in the Siberian city of Barnaul, 3600 kilometers from Moscow, but the locals quickly rejected it saying that the location shown does not match any scenario in the region.
Another report, from the important newspaper Komsomolskaya Pravda, suggests that the circus in question was actually in the city of Alexandrov, 120 kilometers northeast of Moscow.
The shocking video of the circus snake trainer lit the alarms of the Russian police, who are trying to find some certainty: where and when the incident took place, and the fate of the actor.
