WhatsApp is working on long-awaited app for iPad

WhatsApp is currently working on an app for iPad users. So you will be able to send and receive messages via your iPad without a constant smartphone connection. WABetafInfo reports this on Twitter.

iPhone users have been able to send messages through WhatsApp for years. The app is so well established that people hardly ever send direct text messages to each other anymore.

Via the iPad, it is not yet possible to use the app version of the chat service, but that is about to change. WhatsApp now wants to launch a version for the iPad as well.

Currently, iPad users can only send messages via the web version of the chat service. With an app version for iPads, WhatsApp wants to support multiple devices.

A dedicated iPad app is part of multi-device 2.0. Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg previously announced that WhatsApp would be used on four different devices simultaneously.

A test version of the iPad app is not available at this time. Beta testers will automatically get the first version of the iPad app as it rolls out.
