Mystery stories that have been documented but remain unexplained
The world is full of secrets and mysteries, and a person is too small and inexperienced to be able to tear off the heavy veils of darkness from them. Information is so intriguing to the general public from time to time that it is simply impossible to believe in its reality.
Nevertheless, we cannot get away from the mysticism that permeates our entire existence. Here are 7 completely inexplicable stories that still trouble the best minds of our time.
The Gibbons twins
June and Jennifer Gibbons have refused to contact the outside world since childhood. They became known as “The Silent Twins” since they only communicated with each other.
More precisely, the twins could not understand the words addressed to them, whereas they could communicate with each other in their language. Linguists have never been able to figure it out.
Dyatlov Pass
A group of nine young hikers consists seven men and two women trudged through Russia’s snowy Ural Mountains toward a peak locally known as “Dead Mountain.” The hikers pitched their tents at the base of a small slope as an intensifying blizzard chilled the night air. They never made it to their next waypoint.
It took nearly a month for investigators to find all nine whose bodies are mutilated in a bizarre way scattered amid the snow, trees, and ravines of Dead Mountain. Some of the hikers died half-dressed, in just their socks and long underwear. Some had broken bones and cracked skulls; some were missing their eyes; and one young woman had lost her tongue, possibly to hungry wildlife. Their tent, half-buried in the snow and slashed open from the inside, still held some of the hikers’ neatly folded clothes and half-eaten provisions.
Mary Celeste ship
The story of Mary Celeste is known around the world. The ship, whose crew had disappeared without a trace, was found off the coast of Portugal. There was perfect order on board as if all the crew had just got up from the table.
D.B. Cooper
In 1971, a humble man in a black suit and tie hijacked a Boeing 727 aircraft in United States airspace between Portland and Seattle. After a stop at Seattle-Tacoma airport to collect $200,000 in ransom and four parachutes and then vanished into thin air, jumping out somewhere over Mexico City.
The murders at the Hinterkaifeck farm
This incident resembles a low-budget horror movie. A remote farm, where a gloomy family of 6 lived, became the backdrop for a wild, hitherto unsolved crime.
The killer lived on the farm for several days, walking as an invisible shadow among the household, and then destroyed the whole family and sank into the shadows again.
Cicada 3301
Since 2012, a particular secret organization has been puzzling the entire internet, sending puzzles to anyone who wants to join its ranks. Incredibly complex, intricate puzzles that only professional hackers can solve, they are scattered all over the world – and most importantly, there is no information about who Cicada 3301 serves.
Night Stalker
A hitherto undiscovered killer has been terrorizing Sacramento County, California, for months. He liked to call his victims’ homes to warn them of an intruder. The Night Stalker is believed to be responsible for 12 slayings, 45 rapes, and more than 120 residential burglaries between 1976 and 1986.
And the FBI thinks Stalker’s still alive today. He’s just retired.
