The feud continues: Elon Musk lashes out at rival Jeff Bezos again

It has been clear for some time that Elon Musk of SpaceX and Jeff Bezos of Blue Origin are not exactly best friends. The two billionaires have been arguing for quite some time over building a lunar lander for NASA. Musk likes to go the extra mile and again lashes out at Bezos in a post on Twitter.

“Turns out Besos retired in order to pursue a full-time job filing lawsuits against SpaceX,” Musk wrote on Twitter. It is not the first time Musk has targeted his wealthy rival on his social media account. “(He) can’t get it straight (in orbit). Lol,” Musk tweeted earlier in April.

Building a lunar lander for NASA is one of the reasons for the bickering between the two. Initially, NASA had said it would offer both SpaceX and BlueOrigin a contract, but the space agency ultimately decided to choose only SpaceX when it turned out that it would receive less government funding.

Bezos disagrees with that decision and went to court, halting work on the lunar lander. Musk’s company received 2.9 billion dollars from NASA to build a new lunar lander, which will take American astronauts to the moon for the first time since 1972.

In addition, Amazon this week urged the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to reject SpaceX’s newly filed plans — which call for launching another cluster of satellites to power satellite Internet service Starlink.

Amazon’s recent complaint does not appear to be a formal lawsuit but rather a public outcry. Incidentally, it’s not that Amazon doesn’t want SpaceX to launch more Starlink satellites at all, but that it believes the company should be more transparent in its plans to do so.
