Ban on going out: He killed seagull for pecked fries
A 64-year-old Dutchman who killed a seagull in July last year after the bird tried to steal a fries was given a ban on going out by the judge.
The Sixties from Cardiff had committed serious animal suffering in the English coastal town of Weston-super-Mare last summer. When a seagull came to pick up fries near the beach, the man burst into fury.
Witnesses saw him grabbing the bird by the legs and then slamming it hard against a wall. The animal had to be brought to a vet who relieved the bird of his suffering. Several young children also saw the incident when it happened. One of the mothers took another photo with her smartphone
The 64-year-old John Llewellyn-Jones must now adhere to a curfew for 12 weeks between 20 o’clock in the evening and 8 o’clock in the morning, and fine of 750 pounds (almost $1000 when converted). “He cared more about his fries than the seagull. This was a despicable act, “said an inspector from the British animal protection organization RSPCA.
